With a nature scene at every landing, this stairway takes you from the seas to the stars.
The person who commissioned this project is a lover of both nature and metalwork. At every landing—there are seven—a scene shows the changing levels of the world.
It starts in the ocean, with a swimming sea turtle; then a pond’s edge, with koi and dragonflies; a cattail marsh with a standing heron; in the oak treetops, with an owl; a cloudy sky with flying geese; our moon, in a starry sky; and the planets orbiting our solar system.
We built the stairs and low-voltage light fixtures as well as the railing, but you’ll be too busy looking at the changing scenes to notice.
